LOSS OF LICENSE DISABILITY COVER FOR PILOTS

He holds a BCom in Aviation Management from the University of Pretoria and an Honours in Business Administration from GIBS.


As a qualified financial advisor with over 4 years of experience, Robbie is dedicated to helping his fellow pilots by offering tailored financial advice, understanding your unique needs, and helping you secure your financial future.

My first airline job!

Having left his job as a contract pilot in Africa and having completed his ATP exams, David joined a local South African airline as a first officer. He was excited to be at home with his wife and they were both looking forward to the purchase of their first home as they welcomed their new baby.

With the growth of David’s career and family, he found a new sense of responsibility to financially protect his career and his family. He planned to build his flight hours quickly to enable him to test for his higher licence, gain airline seniority, and earn a higher salary. As a contract pilot, David enjoyed tax exemption as a foreign income earner. On his return to South Africa and in taking the new job, he was aware that he would pay a higher rate of income tax and was interested to learn how he could reduce this.

Hexon Fairweather performed a financial needs analysis for David and suitable recommendations were made. Patrick’s family joined him in Dubai after he completed his new aircraft type rating. Patrick had an existing life cover policy with a South African insurer before he left for Dubai and a provident fund with the local airline. He was unsure about his tax residency and how he should save while working in Dubai. Upon resignation from the local airline, Hexon Fairweather transferred Patrick’s provident fund tax-free into preservation and invested his funds into a more aggressive portfolio for better growth.
